reiki drum... shaman drum... choku rei drum...

This is a healing drum...

...one that i recently created into being...

...and, the process was an interesting one to work with ...a very powerful energy symbol... always, creating sacred drums hold their own process and timing and also always teach me so much... creating any drum always challenge me on some level or another... and i sometimes wonder why i even do it... but spirit keeps nudging me to keep on keeping on...

This sacred drum taught me a lot about simplicity... about ease, clearness and right action... and to not worry... particularly about "perfection"... this drum taught me to let go of always having to perfect...

During this drum's creation, i was struck as to how simply the drum came together... i like that the frame is not perfectly round but in the end result, i believe turned out quite beautiful in it's imperfection...

The Choku Rei symbol i chose to paint on this drum is one of the 2nd degree symbols used in the ancient hands-on healing art of Reiki.

Reiki means “Universal Life Energy” and comes from and through ancient shamanic traditions in Japan, Tibet and many others.

I work with the Reiki energy within my energy-healing practice including the sacred drum often combining both within a treatment...

Choku Rei, (pronounced choke-koo-ray) translated means, “fill with Holy Spirit,” or, “Spirit/God/Goddess is here!”...

As a symbol in Reiki practice, it is used for directing universal energy and for amplifying this energy. It breaks through blocked or stagnant energy and transforms negative energy to positive energy. It is often drawn before beginning a healing and can also be drawn to bring a blessing to any place. Drawing it before a healing is a bit like a signal to switch on the healing energy and to increase its power.

Takata Sensei (one of Reiki’s lineage teachers) called this symbol the "Invocation of universal power". Often, healers draw this symbol over their palms before placing their hands. Wearing this symbol is a statement that you wish to connect to universal spirit and be a sacred vessel for this energy to flow through.

I always draw this symbol on my own healing drum before i assist someone in the healing (transformation) work… as i feel the sacred drum works as an extension of the “healing that sources” through me (as the hollow bone) to wherever the healing energy needs to go and occur in it’s own time and space.

Working with the sacred drum also breaks up blocked and stagnant energy and amplifes the “Reiki”.

I feel sooo honoured to offer healing (for wherever the healing needs to go) to those who wish to move energy and shift that which needs to be shifted within their lives...

blessings.... weaver (((o)))

Note: this ocean drum is for sale to anyone called to caretake and carry this reiki drum... if you're interested in knowing more, please feel free to contact me...

  2. What an awesome drum! :)

Say, the symbol...is it true that it will accomplish different things, depending on what way the spiral is pointing?? As in "decreasing" or "increasing" the energy?

  3. hi grace... it depends on the practitioner and their training... tho' yes... that symbol can be used either way... in a way i call drawing either sunwise or moonwise.... either gathering or building energy or decreasing or unwinding energy all depending on how or why one is working with the choku rei........ thanks for your comment...
